The session was delivered by Mr. Kamal Kishor Malhotra, CEO – GICRISE. Students gained in-depth knowledge about India’s evolving startup ecosystem, the support provided by GICRISE, and the procedures to avail government grants and incubation opportunities. Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Suneel Galgotia and Hon’ble CEO Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, the School of Business at Galgotias University successfully organized an enlightening session on “Innovation & Start-up Ecosystem Enablers in India”. The speaker for the session was Mr. Kamal Kishor Malhotra, CEO of the Galgotias Incubation Centre for Research Innovation Startup & Entrepreneurs (GICRISE), a Government of UP-recognized incubator.

The session began with a warm welcome to Mr. Malhotra, followed by an insightful talk on how the Indian start-up landscape is evolving and what enabling structures are helping shape its future. Mr. Malhotra discussed in detail the role of GICRISE in empowering young entrepreneurs, offering them a vibrant ecosystem and world-class infrastructure including co-working spaces, advanced labs such as the FAB Lab, EV Lab, Clinical Research Lab, Graphics Lab, and 3D Printing Lab. He emphasized GICRISE’s sector-agnostic approach and its mission to foster a culture of innovation nationwide.

Students were introduced to the different stages of support offered by GICRISE, ranging from Pre-Incubation (Ideation to POC), Incubation (POC to MVP), to Acceleration (Market & Investment Readiness). Mr. Malhotra also shared GICRISE’s extensive mentorship network consisting of distinguished professionals from institutions like IITs, Wadhwani Foundation, ACICs, STPI, NIF, and reputed private ventures.

One of the key highlights of the session was the detailed walkthrough of government funding schemes and incentives available to startups. Mr. Malhotra elaborated on the StartInUP program, which offers sustenance allowances, prototype development grants, seed capital, patent support, and event participation reimbursement. Notably, he discussed how startups founded by women, persons with disabilities, and entrepreneurs from underserved regions are eligible for additional financial benefits.

During the Q&A session, students actively engaged with the speaker to understand the step-by-step process of availing facilities at GICRISE. Mr. Malhotra clearly explained how students can apply for incubation, the criteria for evaluation, and how GICRISE helps bridge the gap between innovation and market execution.
