Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Suneel Galgotia and Hon’ble CEO Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, Galgotias University the “Pitching Round for Screening of MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0” concluded at Galgotias University on 19th August 2025. Their guidance and forward-looking vision have continuously strengthened the university’s position as a frontrunner in innovation, research, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Dhruv Galgotia’s emphasis on nurturing young minds and providing them with a conducive ecosystem for creativity has laid the foundation of a culture where ideas are encouraged to grow into impactful solutions, with his mission to align the university’s innovation ecosystem with national initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047, has enabled Galgotias University to stand tall as a recognized incubation hub and MSME Host Institute (HI). His focus on world-class infrastructure, industry partnerships, and global exposure ensures that budding entrepreneurs receive the right resources, mentorship, and platforms to scale their ventures.
The Pitching Round for MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 was a true celebration of innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving. A total of 40 teams came forward to pitch their transformative ideas in front of a highly experienced Evaluation Committee consisting of academicians, industry experts, and innovation mentors. The energy and enthusiasm of the participants set the tone for a session filled with creativity, fresh perspectives, and a deep commitment to addressing challenges faced by industries and society.
A closer look at the thematic participation revealed the diversity of thought and the wide-ranging applicability of solutions presented by students. The largest participation came under the theme “Innovation in Adoption of Industry 4.0 & 5.0 in the MSME Ecosystem,” where 25 teams demonstrated how artificial intelligence, data analytics, robotics, IoT, and automation can transform MSMEs. Their ideas reflected a strong alignment with the current digital transformation era, showcasing MSMEs as future-ready enterprises with enhanced competitiveness.
Sustainability-driven innovation also found significant representation, with 07 teams pitching under the theme “Low-carbon footprint solutions/technologies.” These teams worked on solutions that promote energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, and eco-conscious production systems, contributing towards a greener and more sustainable future.
On the industrial side, 03 teams presented ideas under “Smart and Resilient Supply Chains.” Their pitches highlighted models to strengthen logistics, ensure transparency, and build adaptive systems that can withstand disruptions. Similarly, 03 teams explored the high-priority domain of “Stealth, Surveillance, and Cyber Defense Technologies.” With the increasing importance of cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, these innovations were timely and crucial for national growth and security.
The final category, “Innovation for business upliftment and sustainability in coastal and hilly areas,” witnessed participation from 02 teams. These innovators presented unique solutions to tackle geographical, climatic, and infrastructural challenges faced by entrepreneurs in such regions, aiming at inclusive growth and sustainability.
The Evaluation Committee assessed each pitch meticulously on several parameters including innovation quotient, scalability, feasibility, and socio-economic impact. The diversity of themes, the originality of concepts, and the depth of execution impressed the evaluators. After thoughtful deliberations, the committee recommended 20 teams to be shortlisted for the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0. These selected teams will now advance to the next stage, gaining opportunities for mentorship, financial support, and incubation to convert their concepts into tangible products and services.
